How JobLock reads a job before you do

The AI reads the description, the answers and the photos, then suggests a likely fault, the parts and the specialty needed.

The AI is not there to replace your judgement. It is there so you are not starting from a blank page at 7pm with a two-line voicemail.

What it looks at

The customer's own words, their answers to your qualifying questions, the urgency they selected, the postcode and every photo they uploaded. It reads them together rather than separately, which is why a photo of a pressure gauge plus "no hot water" produces something more useful than either on its own.

What it gives you

A ten-second brief, a probable fault, a short list of parts worth having on board, and the sub-specialty the work falls under — water heater, leak repair, fuse board, multi-point lock. It also raises urgency when the answers describe danger: a burning smell, no heating with vulnerable occupants, an active leak that is spreading.
  • Written brief: what the job is, in plain English.
  • Likely fault: the starting hypothesis, not a verdict.
  • Suggested parts: what to load before you set off.
  • Detected specialty: used for routing to the right technician.

What it deliberately does not do

It does not price the job and it never shows a customer a number. Estimating cost from a photograph is how trades end up anchored to a figure they cannot honour. Everything the AI produces is written for you, on your side of the system. The customer sees only the form and your own messages.

Where your judgement still wins

Treat the brief as a starting position. You confirm on the phone, you price when you have seen it, and you charge what the work is worth. The difference is that you begin the conversation informed. Customers can hear the difference between "so what's the problem?" and "I can see the fault code on your photo — is the pressure still sitting under 0.5 bar?".

When it gets it wrong

Sometimes it will. A blurry photo, an unusual install or a customer describing the wrong symptom all produce a brief that misses. Nothing in the system acts on that brief on its own: no message is sent to the customer about the diagnosis and no price is quoted. The worst case is that you read a paragraph and disagree with it.

Common questions

Does the AI ever contact my customer?
No. It only writes the internal brief on your job card. The only automatic message a customer receives is the missed-call text and the confirmation that their request arrived.
Does it give the customer a price?
Never. Pricing is deliberately left entirely to you.
Is the AI available on every plan?
The written brief is part of the capture flow on all plans; photo analysis is included on the paid tiers.
